Hello! I am just dropping in to share a few fun things around here lately.

Garage Shelves

First, and maybe the most exciting, I ordered some new shelves (similar) for our garage! If you are interested in some like this shop around. Depending on the size you want I found Target and Walmart to have the best prices. Mine was Target’s brand Made by Design and was on sale, woot! Our garage is very much a work in progress. It is often just a holding ground, which I think is ok, but you gotta be able to walk through it at least, right? I have declared this my shelf and have now designated zones to our garage. I hope it helps. A His an Hers if you will, oh and Kids…that’s kind of a big one! These shelves are deep and I think they are going to be awesome. We (my husband) anchored it to the wall, and I started loading it up. I sadly realized I have a lot of containers. That weren’t being used. But might be used some day…anyways trying to find uses for them so they are purposeful, but I really don’t like getting rid of things like that. I will if I need to. It would be silly to have bought shelves for empty containers, yikes!

Bird Feeder

I am not sure how I have been a mom for over eight years and never made a bird feeder with my monkeys! We have painted bird houses. They didn’t last too long in the Texas sun, but were cute for a while. No birds seemed to have made their home in them, though. We were checking out the kid’s grandparents’ bird feeder, and they sent us home with some extra recycled materials that they used to make theirs. I added some birdseed to my last grocery store pickup and we finally got around to putting it together. We added a little finesse via washi tape. My girls LOVE washi tape. We find it everywhere haha. I think it might hold up a while outside because of its texture. It is colorful for now at least! We also added some colorful popsicle sticks for the birds to hopefully perch on while they eat. I am excited to watch for some birdies from our son Henry’s bedroom window.

Bookshelves

Speaking of Henry’s room, we added something above his bed! My sister was making an IKEA trip and I was so excited to have her pick me up two shelves to hold his books. Thank you! I was really loving this diy idea, but if I add the cane to it then you won’t be able to see his books as well. I think the Donald Duck comic books especially are so colorful and just fit the aesthetic of his room perfectly. So, I’d rather show them off!

We aligned the shelves with the end of his bed he doesn’t sleep on. I would like to add a reading light above his head. This is the sconce I am eyeing. Do you like it?

Painting

I am not sure why, but the other night I got the itch to paint something. As soon as 3 out of the 4 were asleep I got out my acrylics and some paper and got to work. I knew I would paint flowers. I always do, ha. I love flowers. But, I just kind of went for it! I expected to not like it because I don’t paint much at all these days so I am pretty rusty. It was a lot of fun and didn’t take too long because I was working on a pretty small size paper. I actually like how it turned out!

I have a space in my breakfast nook I thought two small pieces of art stacked would look pretty. On the adjacent wall I was thinking one larger piece. I was going to look for an overly chunky gold frame for these flowers. Something like this frame maybe. The only thing was my painting was kind of a weird size, and I would need to mat it.

When we woke up the next morning my husband suggested I use a frame we had…which led to some musical frames! I love playing musical furniture as well since I am a rearrange-aholic, remember!? If you are reading this you probably love these games too! The frame I used is a floating frame. No mat needed, perfect! Instant gratification, too. I brought a larger frame I had displayed with the yellow one in our office for the other wall and I think it looks great. It is a photo of my oldest two when they were little. I will have to work my youngest two into the room somehow now. So, the print I did have in the yellow frame of Old Town Park City Utah needs a new home. Luckily, it is an 8 x 10 so that will be an easy swap. To be continued.

Shows

After I was done painting, we had one more episode of Ted Lasso left to watch. Really loved that show. Feel good for sure. Don’t you hate when a show you love is over!? Hoping for more. What are you watching?

Breakfast

I hope you got to enjoy a long weekend! We had fun making, or rather eating, crepes Sunday morning. With Nutella of course. I have really loved a lot of Jamielyn Nye’s recipes from I Heart Naptime. I used her crepe recipe and they turned out great. Did you do anything different or fun?!

See you around!
